We’re so excited that ALI—our brand-new AI Look Inspiration tool—is here and already helping so many of you tweak your daily formulas to fit your life. 🎉 But if you’re feeling a little unsure about how to “talk” to ALI, you’re not alone! For many of our members, this is their very first experience using AI.

The good news? Prompting ALI is simple—and you’re 100% capable of mastering it. Think of ALI as your friendly, style-savvy bestie who’s always ready to listen. You don’t need to use special commands or techy jargon. Just type what you’d say to a real person, and she’ll do the rest.

A quick reminder: ALI is still in beta testing mode, which means she’s learning and improving every day. If she doesn’t nail your request on the first try, don’t worry—just tweak your prompt and see what she comes up with next. Use the thumbs up/down buttons after each response to tell her what you loved—or what missed the mark. Every bit of feedback helps her improve. Your feedback during this beta phase is helping us make her even better!

What’s a Prompt?

A “prompt” is just a fancy word for the question or request you type into ALI’s chat box. Your prompt tells ALI how you want to adjust or customize your Outfit Formula of the Day. The clearer you are, the better ALI can work her magic.

Easy Ways to Start Prompting ALI

Not sure what to say? Here are some ideas you can copy and paste (or make your own!):

  • “How can I dress this down for a casual brunch with friends?”
  • “How do I make this look more laid-back for a daytime event?”
  • “What accessories can I add to this outfit to make it more festive for a holiday party?”
  • “Can you suggest ways to make this outfit more professional for an important meeting?”
  • “What should I wear to transition from a daytime office look to an evening date?”
  • “How can I make this outfit more relaxed for running errands on the weekend?”
  • “What changes can I make to this outfit to make it appropriate for a business casual event?”
  • “How can I add layers to this outfit to make it more stylish for a chilly day out?”
  • “Can you help me make this more suitable for a wedding guest look?”
  • “How can I dress up this outfit for an elegant dinner?”

Pro Tip: Be specific about your needs. Instead of saying “Change this outfit,” try “Change this outfit to be more weekend casual with sneakers.”

Don’t Worry About Saying It ‘Right’

Introducing ALI, your AI-powered personal style assistant, now available (in beta!) inside the Outfit Formulas app. Whether you want to dress up your daily formula for date night or tone it down for a casual weekend, ALI is here to help. She’s smart, stylish—and still learning.

That’s right: ALI is currently in beta, which means you’re getting early access to help shape her future. She may not get every answer perfect just yet, but with your help, she’ll keep getting better and better.

What is ALI?

ALI stands for AI Look Inpiration, and she’s the newest member of your style squad. She lives inside your daily Outfit Formula and is designed to help you personalize your look in seconds.

Here’s how she works:

  • Need to make your outfit office-appropriate? She’ll tweak it.
  • Want to dress it down for a soccer game? She’s on it.
  • Headed to a dinner party but don’t want to overdo it? She’ll strike the perfect balance.

Just tap “Chat with ALI to Personalize It” and tell her what kind of vibe you’re going for. She’ll offer smart suggestions based on your scenario—so you can spend less time guessing and more time getting out the door with confidence.
